Share a Glass attended a great Amarone tasting hosted by Halpern Enterprises. Three wines were tasted; including Fumanelli’s Amarone Riserva Octavius and the new Vintages released Amarone Fumanelli.
The Octavius was a fantastic example of a Riserva Amarone; on the nose, the tertiary aroma’s of barnyard came through with the essence of dried fruit following close behind. The palate was velvety and lingered with a dark chocolate finish. The cheeses that were chosen went exceptionally well and speaking for myself, the raisins were my favourite pairing with this wine.
I’m sharing the audio I recorded during the tasting. Armando Fumanelli speaks about the wines being tasted and Jason Rosso explains the cheese pairings that were chosen.
Enjoy!
