I attended a fantastic tasting at The Spoke Club in late fall that was extraordinary; meeting established winemakers from a variety of Liquid Art Fine Wine’s portfolio was a rare treat. I was pleasantly surprised at the great Cabernet Franc produced from Azienda Vitivinicola Duemani’s 7 hectar plot on the Tuscan Coast. Duemani is a unique biodynamic winery that truly captures the essence of the terroir in every single wine they produce. The vineyard is located on the coast where Sangiovese is the primary varietal, but winemaker, Luca D’Attoma, stepped outside of the box and planted Cabernet Franc. From his patience to our pleasure, Luca D’Attoma produced a full bodied, powerfully fruity wine with a kick that will age for 3 to 5 years. The price escapes me, but it is in the neighbourhood of $80/bottle. It’s definitely a special occasion wine and because of the unique characteristics of the vineyard and the wine; definitely a must try, even if it is once.
