Germany’s Rhine River is an extraordinary site for everyone, regardless of your preference to wine or not, but it does happen to be the hotbed of wineries for Germany. Mainz, located on the west bank of the Rhine is the centre of Germany’s wine region, producing an obscene amount of wine. In fact, in this area alone, it produces, roughly, 20 times the amount of wine that Canada produces. Mainz is also the destination of a popular wine festival that occurs in late summer for all to participate. Aside from the abundance of wine stands, there is great food, carnival rides and games for everyone to enjoy.
