Roasted Chicken in Bordeaux

I am always prudent in keeping my wine stored properly, but I purchased a bottle of White Bordeaux, and it, somehow, got madeirized. For those who are unsure of the meaning, the bottle got hot and aged it quicker than it should. Unfortunately for me, it was one of the more expensive bottles of wines that I’ve purchased in a while. Disappointed in the reality of my White bordeaux, I opted to drink water that night with my Seafood Fettucini in a Rose Sauce. The following night, not being defeated by my bad luck, I made a Roasted Chicken with Potatoes, Carrots and Onions. The bird was cooked to perfection, if I do say so myself. I grabbed a Red Bordeaux this time, and the first sniff and sip was more beautiful then I ever imagined. It was a bottle of 2000 Chateau de Cruzeau; located in Pessac-Leognan, France. Fifty-five percent Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Merlot, The bouquet is filled with blackberries and cigar box with a nice elegant finish. It was great with the roasted chicken, but it probably would have tasted fabulous with a slab of prime rib and mashed potatoes. I am definitely interested in picking up another bottle to see how it is with the prime rib.
