Brunch with Family

This past Sunday we hosted a brunch at our house; on top of the usual holiday spirits, like rum and eggnog and a cream licquor to slip into your coffee, we added a couple of bottles of sparkling wine to the mix. I picked up two bottles of sparkling wine; a Prosecco and a Moscato; the Prosecco was Il Vino dei Poeti Brut from Bottega, and the Moscato was Petalo Il Vino dell’ Amore from Bottega as well. Paired with the food, both wines were great with the greasy bacon and sausages I cooked up. Like most salty and greasy foods, after a few pieces your mouth will go on strike, but the Moscato and the Prosecco allowed me to eat as much as my stomach allowed, cleansing my palate after each delicious mouth full. For those family members who weren’t keen on a glass of sparkling wine, I provided peach juice, OJ, fruit punch and grenadine to make a light and barely noticeable alcoholic beverage; the peach juice, grenadine and Moscato, a make shift Bellini, was enjoyed by everyone! Try this combo and let me know what you think.
